Killie Can Cycle is a childrens charity based in Shortlees in Kilmarnock. We started out on the 9th of may 2005 and have been running for 10 years. We collect bicycles from the local recycling centres which are revamped and sold at low cost in the community and surrounding areas. We also send bikes to children in third world countries which aids them with going to and from school and collection of water etc.
As part of the charity we collect and recycle cans from the local pubs, schools and restaurants. The money raised from this is used to purchase parts and assist with the everyday running costs.
We are completely run by volunteers without whom we would not be where we are today.
We have received funding from awards for all the big lottery and also the Kirkcudbright rotary club who raise money by hosting a cycling sportive.
